New client, new(-ish) website: RichardKMorgan.com
I've recently taken on the management of Richard (K) Morgan's website, which I'm very pleased indeed to be involved with, seeing as I'm a bit of a fan and all...
I was going to start by just transferring the old site onto a new server, but... well, I couldn't resist having a bit of a tinker (as you do), so we've actually ended up with an interim revamp. It's still fairly close to the look of the original site, but I've broken the pages out of the frameset to improve Google spider access, added a bit more info about Richard's books to the homepage and so forth.
There will be a fully re-designed site going live later in the year, with a design that reflects the re-design work that publisher Gollancz have unveiled for the full range of paperback editions of Richard's books, and plenty more bibliographical information etc. Watch this space. And in the meantime, here's a quick shot of the interim site:

Some observations:
1. I love the look of black /dark backgrounds, but black text on white background is so much easier on the eyes.
2. The "Access" label is not very clear to me. "Home" is generally universally understood.
3. The "Biog" label looks very close like "Blog". Perhaps "Biography" or the shorter "Bio"?
4. I think "Bibliograpy" better conveys the contents of the "output" page.
My unsolicited 2 pennies... :)
Hi John -
All very good points indeed, and all things I've already got on the 'to-do' list for the full new version ;) Especially the white text / black b'ground issue, which is right up there at #1...
And the button-labels were the ones from the old site again... so yeah, we might move closer to a more conventional naming-scheme for the new site, but at the end of the day it depends on how Richard wants to present it.
Definite case of 'Watch this space...' :)
The old site certainly needed a revamp, looking forward to the new finished product.
Glad you're on the case with this one bud, Richard's site has really been needing a revamp for a while.
